Morningstar Metalworks began in 1974. It was a “meeting of the minds and hearts” between Art Mathewson and Nancy Martin. Art had recently graduated from the University of Connecticut and Nancy had received her degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Art had many of the technical skills that Nancy lacked and Nancy was eager to put her ideas from her metalworking classes into use. Together they formed their company and have worked on all ideas together with Art designing and creating many of the tools they use. Each piece of work is designed and created in their studio with love and pride.
