Whether it is a necklace, a pair of earrings or a pin, the intricate patterns and layers that are stitched, formed, and patinated tell complex stories and engage the wearer into a new world of intrigue.
For over 35 years the arts have shaped the lives of John and Linda Whitney. John has had a rich life in visual arts. Having grown up in a family of artists and after his studies at Kansas University, he became an accomplished sculptor in New Mexico, exhibiting in Santa Fe and Taos. John’s love of the form and expression of the figure is displayed in his fanciful metal work of dancers and musicians that delight the eye in earrings, pins and necklaces.
Linda uses multi-textured metals, polymer clay, stones and beads to build a landscape of poylychromatic constructionist wearable art. Each piece is individually fabricated from a combination of brass, copper and nickel silver and finished with heat patinas. Polymer clay and a variety of stones and beads embellish the work and give color to the pieces. Whether it is a necklace, a pair of earrings or a pin, the intricate patterns and layers that are stitched, formed, and patinated tell complex stories and engage the wearer into a new world of intrigue.
