MCH Jewelry
Chatham, NJ
I've trained in precious metal clay, wire work and metalsmithing. I love to combine techniques in my designs.
My designs are classic yet integrated with today’s practical lifestyle. Materials are carefully selected. The brand offers three lines: Mediterranean, Minimalist and Zen.
My creations aim to enhance the wearer. My affair with jewelry stems from my grandmother; she was an avid jewelry collector, I’d spend all my weekends with her. As an extra treat whenever I was good, I was able to look at her jewelry chest and try some of her pieces, I was exposed to fabulous jewelry at a very young age. Design came from my godmother. She was a fashion designer and taught me the principles of design. As a young adult in college I joined the business world. The opportunity of early retirement freed me to pursue my dreams. I started taking jewelry classes and moved from beading to wire work to metalsmith to precious metal clay to enameling to even lapidary. In the last 8 years, I’ve been making and selling my jewelry, got an award at the NJ Visual Art for my PMC work, taught in the local adult school and on occasions at the New York Bead Society.
My studio is in Chatham, New Jersey where I live with my husband. All my designs are original. I’m very eclectic and love to experiment. This shows in the diversity of my designs from classical delicate pieces to chunky and bold. I guess it also reveals parts of my personality and the mood I am as I execute the design. Most of my designs are Limited Editions and One of a Kind. I will make similar pieces but not two are ever exactly alike.
I’ve trained in precious metal clay, wire work and metalsmithing. I love to combine techniques in my designs. My metal of choice is fine silver, but I also work in sterling silver, 14K and 18K gold-fill, copper, brass, bronze and non-lead pewter. At my studio, I hand forge most of my metal designs and fabricate a great deal of my findings.
