I now find lumber with defects, that I would have discarded in my younger days, to be interesting and beautiful.
I have been making projects with wood since I was ten years old. I have a
degree in Industrial Arts from Millersville University and spent many years
teaching Woodworking and Drafting. Along the way, I was a residential builder
in Chester County. I am now retired and enjoy outdoor sports and of course
I like to work with common Pennsylvania Hardwoods – Walnut, Cherry and
Oak. It is interesting to me that lumber with defects and that I would have
discarded in my younger days, I now find very interesting and beautiful and
often try to feature in my furniture.
